What is a Eurograde Safe?
Eurograde safes refer to safes that have been tested and certified to provide secure storage for cash and valued goods in line with the European Standards for Safes. Our range of UK manufactured safes are available in Grades 0 to 6, with each grade offering a recommended overnight cash and valuables cover rating.

See table below for the full breakdown of the cash and valuables ratings attributed to each grade of safe:

Grade 0 / £6,000 / £60,000
Grade 1 / £10,000 / £100,000
Grade 2 / £17,500 / £175,000
Grade 3 / £35,000 / £350,000
Grade 4 / £60,000 / £600,000
Grade 5 / £100,000 / £1,000,000
Grade 6 / £150,000 / £1,500,000

What safe is best for my needs?
Choosing the ideal safe for your Domestic Security or Commercial Security requirements is largely dependent on the value of the items you wish to store. In most cases our higher grades of safes (Grades 3-5) are best suited for commercial security requirements, as these offer higher cash and valuables cover, and therefore are the ideal option for premises with greater security needs.

Our Underfloor Safes are ideal in circumstances where there is limited spacing, whether that be in a domestic setting, or a small commercial premises. Not only do Underfloor Safes offer space saving benefits, they also ensure secure storage can be achieved in the most discrete manner.

What benefits do deposit facilities provide?
Deposit safes offer a secure solution to ensuring that valued items can be loaded into the safe without requiring access to the existing contents of the safe. These solutions are ideal in many Commercial Security settings such as Retail, Banking and Governmental environments. Utilising a Deposit Safe ensures that cash and valued goods can be securely deposited as frequently as is necessary in an extremely efficient manner.
What are fire ratings?
Fire Ratings, quite simply, reflect the amount of time any paper documents, or digital media would be protected from damage in the event of fire.

Always look for fire ratings that provide information of independent testing and certification.  If you can’t see the words “tested and certified” you may be purchasing an inferior product.

The standard fire rating lengths provided with most certified safes is 30, 60 and 120 minutes.

There are two main types of fire proof testing, one to protect paper and one to protect digital/magnetic media.  This is usually identified in the testing and certification information but can sometimes be displayed as “P” (paper) or “DMA” (digital media).

What does AiS approved mean?
AiS stands for The Association of Insurance Surveyors. The AiS is a well-known and respected body of individual risk control and reduction experts who work within the insurance sector throughout the UK. The mainstay of the AiS is to seek continuous improvement in all aspects of personal and property protection against insurable risks through collection, collation and dissemination of information on products and services affecting best practise in the field of risk surveying and consultancy.

Our Graded Safes being AiS approved simply means that they uphold the standards set for acquiring insurance cover.

Who are the LPCB and what testing do they provide?
LPCB stands for The Loss Prevention Certification Board, which have been working with industry and insurers for more than 100 years to set the standards needed to ensure that fire and security products and services perform effectively. The LPCB is part of the BRE Group, which provides extensive testing to ensure products within the fire and security sectors meet LPCB’s Loss Prevention Standards (LPS).

Our security solutions are manufactured to fulfil the requirements of the LPCB and undergo independent testing and certification to ensure that exceptional security standards and maintained, and the safes meet the standards for their corresponding cash & valuables ratings, fire ratings and insurance approval.

Which lock type is the best?
Our secure storage solutions can be fitted with a variety of locking options including manual safe locks, electronic safe locks and combination safe locks (the ones you see in films). However, it isn’t a case of “which lock type is the best”, but more which lock type best suits your needs/preference. All of our locking options have been tested to ensure they provide a secure barrier against unauthorised access.
