The Insurance Companies Advice
Privilege Home Insurance said that homeowners should ensure they do not have more cash stored in their homes than their insurance company is willing to replace. This is because insurance policies have a limit to how much money will be recovered if stolen in a break-in.
It also cited the need to be aware about the definition of ‘money in the home’ which includes items such as gift vouchers, cheques, postal orders, saving stamps and travel tickets.
Why This Data Has Been Revealed
This data comes as Brits have been warned to stop advertising their holidays on social media to avoid being targeted. As the UK enters its peak holiday season, nearly 700,000 Brits a month are posting messages about heading to the sun.

How to Protect Your Home
The possibility of your home being targeted by burglars is something that is sometimes unavoidable, however, there are certain security measures you can put in place to protect your belongings and make your home more secure.
By installing a home safe, you can ensure peace of mind that even if your home does fall victim to burglary, the most important and valued items are protected. Find out more about our range of domestic safes.
Having other security measures in place, such as CCTV systems and simply installing motion sensor lights around the perimeter of your home, can play a part in deterring burglars. CCTV can also come in handy if you, unfortunately, do fall victim, as the footage will assist any police investigations regarding the break-in. View our full range of high security products.
