Small pawnbrokers who traded inexpensive, luxury jewellery were looking to expand the business into other areas. They sought our advice about installing safe deposit lockers into their premises. After our team discussed the specifications and requirements with the client and had surveyed the site, we were then able to get to work designing, building and installing a strong room to house 1000 safe deposit lockers for use by the client’s customers. The latest in access control technology was used at the site to ensure maximum security. The business is now bringing in added revenue along with providing extra services for its clients.
As well as working alongside smaller businesses such as the pawnbrokers, our teams have worked to install and build two strong rooms which housed a total of 20,000 safe deposit lockers. Our company was approached by, what is now, one of the largest Safe Deposit Centres in London to install the strong rooms & lockers across their ground and first floors. Generally speaking, first floor installations for strong rooms pose more complications for the installers. Thus, prior to the installation taking place, our teams conducted a site survey to assess and plan the best access routes to use when bringing materials and equipment upstairs safely. We managed to complete the job in as little as 16 weeks, ensuring the company was ready to allow customers use to their new equipment.
Creating a successful safe deposit centre isn’t just about a well-constructed strong room or the number of lockers that can fit inside. It is mostly about the security measures put in place. As part of strong room or safe deposit centre installations, we would recommend installing access control systems in places to suit our client’s needs. In order to make this particular centre as secure as possible, we installed a number of advanced security measures. These included ballistic proof pay windows, airlock doors and biometric fingerprint readers, to name a few. These added layers of security help to provide peace of mind to our clients, which can then be passed along to their customers.
There are two aspects of protecting a Safe Deposit Centre. The first being daytime protocols, these are controlled by biometric locker activation – as well as staff control. The second is nighttime protocols, this is protected by an intruder detection system that covers all forms of attack through windows, doors, walls and ceilings. This can be detected and monitored through IP Dial-Up cameras, live audible warnings as well as initiating policy response.
